This week at THP UK we are busy preparing for the UK launch of the Movement for Community Led Development on Friday 2nd December. This is an exciting time as Britain is home to many pioneering and influential development organisations with a multitude of experiences to share.

It will be an opportunity to learn more about how Community Led Development (CLD) approaches are helping transform lives and build positive relationships which empower those in poverty across the globe. We will have guest speakers from the Institute of Development Studies, Oxfam, Restless Development and The Hunger Projects’ Executive Vice President John Coonrod.

I’m looking forward to the range of discussions we hope to have, such why a community led approach is an essential ingredient in successfully meeting the Sustainable Development Goals as well as learning examples of how CLD has helped lift entire countries out of poverty and helped build positive relationships between communities and their governments.
